About Me


I'm a Louisiana native, born in Hammond, and I'm 28 years old. After studying English for a number of years, first at Southeastern Louisiana University and then at the University of Notre Dame, I worked for several years as an English teacher in several different high schools. I have since decided that teaching at the high school level is not the right job for me; I found it rewarding, but ultimately not in a way or to a degree which made it a viable choice for an extended career. Being a teacher enriched my life and provided me a chance to pass on (I hope) some of the good experiences that I had as a youngster through the offices of some memorable and committed educators . . . but the time finally came for me to move on.

I am in the midst of a search for permanent employment outside of education, whether it be as an academic or in publishing or technical and documentation writing. While I search, I'm pursuing a long-standing interest in professional writing through this freelance service.
