Thank you for your interest in Emendator.net's freelance writing and editing services. For most projects, rates fall on the following per-word scale:

Proofreading and Editing


I offer a range of proofing and editing solutions to suit your needs. Basic proofing services cover punctuation, spelling, and basic grammar; basic editing provides proofreading services as well as revision for clarity and sense. My most comprehensive editing service, deep revision, includes basic proofing, revision for clarity and sense, and also covers any structural changes necessary to improve the logical development of your project. 500 words in 12 point Arial font approximates one page; this makes it easy for you to gain a rough idea of how much your project will cost.

Basic Proofreading:      $.02 per word
Basic Editing:      $.04 per word
Deep Revision:      $.08 per word

Writing Projects


I charge a flat rate of $.08 per word for writing projects for which the client provides all information necessary to complete the project. For jobs requiring research on my part, there is an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour in addition to my per-word rate.

When asked for a quote on work requiring research, I do everything in my power to provide an accurate estimate of the time I will need to gather the facts necessary to complete your project. Expenses incurred during the course of research will also be placed in my estimate if they are known beforehand; if I become aware of an expense which I do not include in my initial estimate for your project, I will notify you before incurring that expense and adding it to the charges for my services.

Retainers


As with many freelance professionals, I am willing to work with repeat customers to establish a retainer at a 20% discount. If you have a recurring project which usually falls within a certain page count (for example, a monthly newsletter), a retainer is to your benefit because it is less costly, and because you save time by avoiding the need to repeat the bidding process.

Quotes


To ask for a quote on your project, email me. I typically respond within 1-2 business days, if not sooner. For short projects of 500-3000 words (1-6 pages), typical turnaround times fall within the range of 3 to 5 business days.
