FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL SINGER/SONGWRITER GOES "BUCK WILD" IN NEW SINGLE

Bad Girl Anthem Climbs Billboard Charts

CANTON, GA--Amanda Lynn, a local musical artist signed to independent record label Viking Lodge Music, belts out a full-throated tribute to teenage rebellion in her debut single, "Buck Wild." The single is also offered on Amanda Lynn's first album, "Made in Dixie," an 11-track meditation on the emotionally fraught transition from adolescence to self-reliant womanhood, written and performed by the artist herself. The single started at #168 on the Billboard Airplay Chart, and since its release in January 2008 it has climbed steadily to its current ranking at #59.

Writing and performing music has been a lifelong dream for the elegant blonde, blue-eyed songstress, who grew up with a variety of musical influences ranging from Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Johnny Cash through to Madonna. Her offerings on "Made in Dixie" reflect this heritage. Representative tracks vary from a bubbly, upbeat outlook on Southern life in the title number, to introspection and loneliness in "Heart of Stone" and a wickedly playful look at a rebellious teenage girl's antics in "Buck Wild." Amanda Lynn demonstrates an uncommon degree of versatility and nuance in this ambitious first CD.

This Southern siren began full-time pursuit of her musical career with the support of Justin, her husband and high school sweetheart, who urged her to devote her energies to music instead of splitting them between her job and her art as she had been doing. She is from the northern reaches of the state, where she lived until the sixth grade with her father and grandmother, in a creaky frame house built by her paternal great-grandfather in the 1940s. He and two of his sons were ministers, and the gospel hymns sung by their congregations were also an important influence on her music. She is largely self-taught, but her performances are impressively polished because of her formidable musical instincts and work ethic.

Martin Cade, fan and fellow musician, describes Amanda Lynn as, "the kind of innocent young rebel that old-time country music used to be full of." Another fan and fellow musician, Steve Ward, adds, "I just love Amanda Lynn's songs! The way she puts her feelings and emotions in them, you just know it's coming from her heart . . . . Her presence and energy on stage is infectious!"

On Saturday, May 3, 2008, Amanda Lynn plans to donate her time to a performance benefitting sufferers of muscular dystrophy at the Charity Bike Ride sponsored by WPPL Mountain Country 103.9 and 94.3 FM of Blue Ridge. Amanda Lynn will provide live music at the finish line celebration to be held at Copperhead Lodge motorcycle resort in Blairsville. Visit www.copperheadlodge.com for details.
